Everest Aid began in the wake of the devastating earthquakes that struck Nepal in April of 2015. Our original aim was to raise funding for relief throughout the Everest region. During the course of creating a legitimate non-profit charity, we refined our purpose and set loftier goals. After much discussion with Sherpa expedition leaders on the ground in Nepal, we are shifting our focus to helping reestablish tourism in the Everest region. Trekkers and expedition members returning to Nepal will help the local people immeasurably. Soon as conditions are safe for service volunteers, we will be encouraging humanitarians young and old to visit Nepal and assist in the rehabilitation of devastated villages.
