Rebuilding Schools

Rebuilding Schools

There are more than 190 government schools in the Everest region affected in the earthquake, putting the education of thousands of children at risk. Many of the worst-hit villages in the Everest region still need the help of the international community to rebuild their destroyed schools and repair those that have been badly damaged. Till now children, especially girls, have nowhere to go to study.

Thousands of children are likely to discontinue their studies and be deprived of their basic right to education. It’s been almost a year since the devastating earthquake and yet the Nepal government is still not supportive of the repair and rebuilding of schools in the Everest region. Once children are out of school, it is difficult for them to restart their studies.

Everest Aid will be collaborating with colleges and service-oriented programs in the near future to get these important projects underway.
